Ingredients

  • Pretzel twists or squares for the crunchy base
  • Cream cheese softened, for the creamy layer
  • Powdered sugar to sweeten the filling
  • Apple finely diced, for fresh flavor and texture
  • Lemon juice to keep the apple pieces bright
  • Caramel sauce for drizzling
  • Crushed graham crackers or chopped nuts optional for garnish

Instructions

  • Step 1: Prep the apples
Dice the apple into very small pieces so they sit neatly on the pretzels. Toss the apple with a little lemon juice to help keep the color fresh and the flavor bright.
  • Step 2: Mix the filling
In a bowl, stir together the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy. Fold in the diced apple gently so every bite gets a little fruit in it.
  • Step 3: Build the bites
Arrange the pretzels on a tray or serving platter. Spoon a small amount of the apple cream cheese mixture onto each pretzel, keeping the topping centered so it stays tidy and easy to eat.
  • Step 4: Finish with caramel
Drizzle caramel sauce over the top of each bite. If you want a little extra crunch, add crushed graham crackers or chopped nuts right away so they stick to the caramel.
  • Step 5: Chill and serve
Let the bites chill briefly so the topping firms up a little before serving. They are best enjoyed soon after assembling while the pretzels are still crisp.

Notes

Chop the apple as finely as possible so the bites are easy to eat and hold together well. Make sure the cream cheese is fully softened before mixing, since that gives you the smoothest filling. If you are serving these later, keep the filling and pretzels separate until just before assembling.
For the best texture, avoid adding too much apple juice to the filling. A thick mixture will sit better on the pretzels and help prevent sogginess. If you want a more polished look, use a small spoon or piping bag to place the filling neatly.
