Christmas Oreos

Christmas Oreos

  • Total Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 24 standard Oreo cookies
  • 12 ounces white chocolate melting wafers
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon alcohol-free vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons red and green festive sprinkles
  • 2 tablespoons crushed candy canes

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preparation: Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. This ensures your cookies will not stick once the chocolate sets. Set out your sprinkles and crushed candy canes in small bowls so they are ready to use immediately after dipping.
  2. Step 2: Melting the Chocolate: Place the white chocolate melting wafers and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring thoroughly between each session until the mixture is completely smooth and glossy. Stir in the alcohol-free vanilla extract once the chocolate is fully melted.
  3. Step 3: Dipping the Cookies: Drop one Oreo into the melted chocolate. Use a fork to flip it over, ensuring it is fully coated. Lift the cookie with the fork and gently tap the handle against the edge of the bowl to let the excess chocolate drip off. This creates a smooth, professional finish without a large puddle of chocolate at the base.
  4. Step 4: Decorating: Carefully place the coated cookie onto the prepared parchment paper. While the chocolate is still wet, immediately garnish with your festive sprinkles or crushed candy canes. Work quickly, as melting wafers tend to set faster than standard chocolate chips.
  5. Step 5: Setting the Treats: Repeat the process for all remaining cookies. Let the cookies sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes until they are firm to the touch. If you are in a hurry, you can place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for 10 to 15 minutes to speed up the hardening process.
