Equipment

  • 1 Mixing Bowl
  • 1 Baking Dish
  • 1 Mixing Spoon

Ingredients

Base

  • 2 cups chocolate cookies or brownie crumbs crushed
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter melted

Filling

  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp alcohol-free vanilla
  • 8 oz whipped topping or whipped cream
  • 2 tbsp milk if needed

Topping

  • 0.5 cup chocolate chips or chopped chocolate for garnish

Instructions

  • Crush the chocolate cookies or brownie crumbs and mix them with melted butter until the texture resembles damp sand. Press the mixture into the bottom of a baking dish to form a firm base.
  • In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add powdered sugar and alcohol-free vanilla, then fold in whipped topping until the filling looks light and fluffy.
  • Spread half of the cream mixture over the base, then add a layer of brownie pieces if you are using them. Repeat with the remaining cream mixture and smooth the top.
  • Cover the dish and refrigerate for several hours, or overnight if possible. This helps the cake firm up and makes slicing much easier.
  • Before serving, top with chocolate chips, shaved chocolate, or a drizzle of chocolate sauce. Slice carefully and serve chilled.

Notes

Let the cream cheese soften fully before mixing so the filling turns out smooth. If your base feels too dry, add a small splash of milk or a little more melted butter. For the cleanest slices, chill the dessert well and use a sharp knife wiped clean between cuts.
If you are making this for a party, prepare it the day before. The flavor and texture both improve after a long chill.
