Equipment

  • 1 Large Skillet

Ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken thighs or chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 4 cup honey
  • 1 4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • red pepper flakes optional, for garnish
  • green onions or sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  • Pat the chicken dry, then season both sides with salt and black pepper. This helps the chicken brown nicely in the pan.
  • Warm the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until golden on both sides, then transfer it to a plate.
  • In the same pan, add the garlic and cook for about 30 seconds. Stir in the honey, soy sauce, chicken broth, and apple cider vinegar, then whisk in the cornstarch.
  • Return the chicken to the pan and spoon the sauce over the top. Let it simmer until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce thickens into a glossy coating.
  • Finish with green onions, sesame seeds, or a pinch of red pepper flakes, then serve warm.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat gently in a skillet over low heat with a splash of broth, or warm in the microwave in short bursts until heated through.
